Videoart and Experimental Cinema
International Panorama: Videoart & Experimental Cinema is a non-competitive showcase for avant-garde films with prominence in the recent international circuit. The curatorship focuses on works of an eminently authorial and artistic nature.
The exhibition aims to realize a periodic panorama of internationaly
and criticaly detached works, in order to foster regional production and at the same time give visibility and feedback to filmmakers.
Sessions take place at the Pinacoteca Ruben Berta museum in Porto Alegre, southern Brazil. Screenings are about one hour and are attended by invited guests, including artists, filmmakers, critics and curators for debates.
First edition took place in December 2018 and featured 12 films by artists from 9 countries: Canada, Japan, Argentina, Paraguay, Russia, Portugal, Mexico, France and Italy.
Panorama presented a special edition dedicated to filmmaker Rouzbeh Rashidi, bringing a selection of shorts and the feature 'Phanton Islands'.
VOL #1 | Roaming Session
A roaming session at O Sítio Art and Technology in Florianópolis, Brazil, presented the selected films from VOL#1 program in a screening with a talk by invited guests.
Second edition is programed to november 7 and 8th at Pinacoteca Ruben Berta, in Porto Alegre, Brazil, bringing 16 films by artists from 11 countryes, as Mexico, United States, Spain, England, France, Austria and Germany.
