Video Art | 6 pcs 3′ each | 2020
Still Life is a series of video studies on the homonym pictorial genre. When stillness
of painting is transposed to moving images what appears is time.
Concept and Images: Muriel Paraboni
This piece was made under the support of Via Farini Org, Milan Italy, during the program VIR In Residence 2020.
About
Dozens of compositions were made for photography and video, involving all sorts of everyday objects, always with natural light. The object of the research in progress is the transition from painting to video, that is, from the static and timeless flat surface to the moving image.
Each piece in the series unfolds some aspect of this passage between supports: language, aesthetics, light variations, the contrast between shapes, figure and abstraction, to name a few. The first 6 pieces of the series were produced and presented in residence at Via Farini in Milan, in June 2020.
